As we do each year, we reached out to our readers and asked them to vote in more than 175 categories for their selection of the "Best of the Best" in 2018 in San Diego County. Bowling Alley, Restaurant and Bar Spins Into Ocean Beach

A bowling alley, restaurant, and bar is due in Ocean Beach this summer. Called OB Lanes, it's an extension of Voltaire Beach House, the East Coast-styled eatery that opened last year in the beach community. Spanning an adjacent 2,000-square-feet, which takes the total footprint to 4,500-square-feet, the combined property will feature more indoor and outdoor seating, another bar area, and four lanes of bowling.

A new place for selectively health-conscious OB

Although the food scenes of Little Italy, North Park, and Convoy get more attention, Ocean Beach has also been experiencing a bit of a restaurant renaissance in recent years. A lot of decent eateries have opened recently but haven't received the big publicity boom that usually accompanies a new restaurant in Little Italy or the Gaslamp.
